FAQs
Got another question that I haven't answered here? Drop me a message and I'll be back in touch with an answer ASAP!
Why did you call your business Nomad?
Firstly, I wanted a name that was more memorable than my own name (which always gets spelt wrong). I decided to move into freelancing so I could have more flexibility in where I live and work, and I wanted a name that reflects that too, and so after trying out a few different ideas, I stuck with Nomad!
What's your logo got to do with fundraising?
Absolutely nothing, except my dream is to run my business from a camper van, and so I'm manifesting that dream through my logo! The heart is for my love of travel and fundraising, and for doing both with care and kindness.
Do you offer a discount for charities?
I only work with charities / non-profit making organisations, and my pricing reflects that. I do intend to offer some pro-bono work when I'm more established, so sign up for my newsletter and follow me on socials to stay in the loop.
Help! I need some support but I only have a very limited budget...
Let's chat. My rates start from £250 a day, but I offer fixed pricing for bespoke projects and longer term contracts. I'm not promising, but we may be able to find a solution that works for us both.
Would you consider working on a commission basis?
No, never. And I'd strongly advise you to reconsider if this is an option you're exploring, as it can be very complicated - and expensive.
How much will you raise for my charity?
Errr, I dunno?! Seriously, I don't know. I can and never will offer a guarantee of fundraised income. What I will do, is guarantee to honour my company values and work in accodance with the Fundraising Regulator. I will provide realistic advice, deliver a high standard of work, and will not work with you if I don't believe that I can produce a good result. But beyond that, I can't promise anything else in this unpredictable fundraising world.
What if the work you do takes longer / less time than expected?
I will consult with you throughout the project to avoid any surprises. If I can complete the work more quickly, your invoice will reflect this. Likewise, if I think more time is needed, I'll let you know ASAP.
What if one of us wants to end the contract early - is there a notice period?
I always suggest a minimum of two week's notice for each party. This will allow time for tying up loose ends, preparing handovers etc.

What are your payment terms?
Invoices are sent on a monthly basis for work completed in the 4 weeks prior. A late payment fee will apply, and any ongoing work will be paused if payment is not received within the payment term.
What does your rate include?
The rate covers my time, experience and expertise, as well as my holiday pay, sick pay, pension, insurance, and other costs incurred with running this business, plus any additional subscriptions, training or conferences I attend to ensure I'm up to date on fundraising legislation and trends. I am not VAT registered, and so rates are inclusive of VAT.
